Co-Authored” is a collection of abstract photographs created during an experiment in appropriation by photographer Krista Joy Niles. Rooted in her discomfort in the practice of artistic appropriation, she embarked on pilgrimages to photograph artworks by some of her favorite artists and to visit some of the most inspiring museums around the United States and Europe. The result is a mysterious and alluring collection of abstract photographs that are are playful and fun, yet sophisticated and elegant.
The collection is also featured in a softcover or hardcover book and sheets of gift wrap.

“This image is from my Co-Authored project. A collection of abstract photographs I made at art museums around the world to explore my discomfort with artistic appropriation. The result is a body of work full of mystery and allure, sophistication and elegance. All of the images in this collection were made “in-camera” using long exposure times. In respect of the artists whose work inspired my own, the project is titled to ensure that we share the credit for the photographs I made.” - Krista
